GRIMES — The Webster City boys wrestling team was in action here Saturday at the Andy Davidson Mustang Invitational hosted by Dallas Center-Grimes. The Lynx finished seventh overall in the 11-team field, as the host Mustangs were first ahead of Johnston and Adel-ADM. Eli Estlund and Cody Elliott led the way for Webster City, as both finished second overall. Estlund was the 190-pound runner-up while Elliott scored silver at 215 pounds. HUMBOLDT — The Webster City girls made an early North Central Conference statement here with a 62-54 win over Humboldt. Evie Davis had a monster double-double, recording 18 points with 18 rebounds, adding three blocked shots and a steal. Jaylyn Bahrenfuss scored 12 points to go along with seven rebounds for the Lynx (2-1 overall, 1-0 in the NCC), as both Alivia Burns and Ashlee Nydegger each scored eight. ROCKWELL CITY — The South Hamilton girls opened the 2025-26 season with a 57-37 victory over South Central Calhoun here Tuesday night. Emma Lammers scored a game-high 23 points, as the Hawks took control of the contest early. South Hamilton (1-0 overall) led by five after the first quarter and 10 at the break, using five 3-pointers in the third to go up 41-23.
