Hawks advance in baseball, 8-3

BEAMAN — The South Hamilton baseball team picked the perfect time to wipe the slate clean. Following a rocky regular season, the Hawks gained new life in a Class 1A substate opener here on Monday. Plating five runs in the last two innings and seven in the last three, South Hamilton (4-16 overall) pulled away to eliminate BCLUW (11-7) by a final score of 8-3. The Webster City baseball squad continues to build momentum with the postseason right around the corner. The Lynx scored a pair of victories on the road to end last week, outlasting Forest City by a final of 14-11 before routing Osage the next night, 13-1. Head coach Adison Kehoe’s team has now won six of its last seven games to inch closer to the .500 mark on the year at 12-15. The Indians were 16-4 before facing the Lynx; the Green Devils were 13-10.
