Hawk girls take down Greene Co.

A big third quarter helped the South Hamilton girls finish off last week with a win. The Hawks outscored Greene County in the third, 15-8, to claim a 51-41 victory last Friday night. Busy stretch continues for Webster City wrestlers

The Webster City wrestling team took part in the Allie Morrison Duals in Marshalltown this past Saturday. The Lynx dropped a close 42-37 decision to Sioux City East, along with falling in duals to Johnston, the host Bobcats, Cedar Falls and Bondurant-Farrar. Cody Elliott finished a perfect 5-0 on the day, as Gavin Wynkoop went 4-1. Andrew Vaughn and Eli Estlund each won three matches, Angel Ramirez and Lincoln Brookshire won two each, and Tariq Burton and Ridge Berninghaus each won once. Rams hold off Hawks

The South Hamilton boys capped off a tough week with a 53-40 setback to Greene County this past Friday night. After taking an early lead, the Hawks were unable to hold off the Rams, as several starters fouled out during the contest. Sam Koehnk had a big night, scoring 21 points to lead South Hamilton. The Hawks earned a 46-35 victory over East Sac County, but fell to both Emmetsburg and Southeast Valley. In the dual win over the Raiders, Wrigley Eilbeck, Parker Stuck, Gaige Willis and Brody Harris secured falls, as Holden Moore added a major decision. DES MOINES — For the second straight season, the South Hamilton girls got the opportunity to play at the home of the state tournament. The Hawks scored a 56-38 victory over Perry here Tuesday night inside the Casey’s Center. Behind an 18-point first quarter, the Hawks took control of the contest early, outscoring the Jayettes in each quarter. Emma Lammers had 11 points, Adelyn Trask nine and Kaylen Trask added eight.
