PANORA — The South Hamilton football team hits the road in search of victory No. 1 on the young season here Friday night.

The Hawks will take on Panorama beginning at 7 p.m.

In the season opener, South Hamilton (0-1 overall) suffered a 59-14 setback to Saint Ansgar, as the Saints used a strong ground attack to pile up over 200 yards and six rushing scores.

For the Hawks, they saw both Wyatt Gelder and Titus Herrick find the end zone, as Gelder rushed for a team-high 89 yards and Herrick added 46. South Hamilton had 172 yards rushing in all.

Panorama (0-1) opened the year with a 40-0 loss to ACGC, as they went 1-7 a year ago. Gavin Lindstrom completed nine passes for 81 yards, including three connections to Cruz Crandall and two each to Latyn Ashworth, Reed Draper and Brayden Meinecke.

The Panthers found it difficult to run the football vs. ACGC, recording just 24 yards on 19 carries.

South Hamilton and Panorama have met twice before, with the Hawks posting an 18-15 victory in 2017 and the Panthers winning the year prior, 42-17.
