Webster City earns split at Clear Lake
CLEAR LAKE — The Webster City baseball team split a North Central Conference doubleheader here Monday night with Clear Lake.
After falling in the opener, 4-2, the Lynx bounced back with a 12-2 win in five innings.
Aiden Hrnicek drove in three runs while both Matthew Tesdahl and Brady Asklund played two runs each for Webster City in the victory. Asklund, Braylon Dyvig, Gavin Griffith and Alex Staley all scored two runs.
Asklund and Hrnicek both recorded a double, and Asklund also stole three bases.
On the mound, Tesdahl, a junior, fired a two-hitter, striking out eight with just two walks allowed.
The opener saw Asklund pick up two hits. Boston Farley and Carter Mickelson both scored.
Tesdahl had an RBI, and Mickelson pitched five innings with three strikeouts.
Next action for the Lynx (8-14 overall, 6-6 in the NCC) will be Thursday when they head to Charles City for a 7 p.m. start.
