STRONG EFFORT

The Webster City softball team finished the regular season on a winning note on Monday, knocking off Southeast Valley 4-3.

The Lynx (16-12 overall) broke a 3-3 tie with a run in the fourth inning and held on for the victory.

The Lynx had seven hits on the night, led by Jakaela Cherry’s two. Cherry had a double and drove in a run.

Ava Peterson and Lydia VanDeer both drove in runs.

Adeline Tesdahl, Bonnie Nohrenberg, Isabel Weinschenk and Breanna Bahrenfuss all scored runs.

Cherry earned the win, striking out eight and walking two.

For Southeast Valley, Chloe Lambert was 3-for-4 with an RBI. Jordyn Rowley drove in two runs.
