The Webster City baseball team got back in the win column with a thrilling walk-off 5-4 home victory over Forest City.

After seeing a 4-0 lead vanish when the Indians plated four runs in the fifth, the Lynx were able to stem the tide send the fans home happy with a run in the seventh.

Braylon Dyvig went the distance, allowing just six hits with all four runs scored against the sophomore being unearned. Seniors Keegan Hisler and Briar Klaver each had two hits and scored a run, with Matthew Tesdahl, Klaver, Josh Stansfield and Josh Griep all driving in a run.

Griep recorded an infield single to score the winning run and give Webster City its 16th victory of the season.

Trevyn Lyons reached base twice on walks and had a hit, with Hisler and Tesdahl each stealing a base.

On Tuesday at Rogers Park in Fort Dodge, the Lynx dropped a tough 2-1 non-conference decision to the Class 4A Dodgers.

Alex Staley pitched a solid five-plus innings, allowing just two hits with six strikeouts for the visitors.

Webster City took an early 1-0 advantage after Jaxon Griffin singled, stole second and scored on a base hit by Klaver. In the third, they had another golden opportunity to score when Hisler tripled. The senior came off the bag due to the wet turf, though, and was tagged out.

The Lynx stranded five on the evening.

Griffith, Hisler, Klaver, Lyons, Griep and Carter Mickelson each had a hit.

Webster City hosts Roland-Story on Friday night.

Starting at $3.46/week.
