Bargfrede, Tesdahl shine for Lynx, 8-3
ROLAND — Delainey Bargfrede and Adeline Tesdahl reached milestones here Monday night as the Webster City softball team topped Roland-Story, 8-3.
Bargfrede recorded her 200th strikeout of the season, retiring the side in order in the seventh. Tesdahl, meanwhile, collected the 100th hit of her career in the win.
The Lynx (15-11 overall) got the scoring started early, plating three runs in the first and two more in the second. Tesdahl finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored, four steals and an RBI, while Breanna Bahrenfuss drove in two.
Alivia Burns scored twice. Both Bargfrede and Jakaela Cherry drove in runs.
Morgan Hackbarth recorded a double and had two hits with a run scored, while also reaching base on a walk.
Bargfrede (14-4) struck out 11 and walked just one, scattering six hits with two earned runs allowed.
Webster City’s planned North Central Conference matchup with fourth-ranked (Class 1A) St. Edmond for Tuesday was called off due to weather.
The Lynx will now head to No. 1 (4A) North Polk Wednesday night.
