Hamilton Co. Speedway crowns champs for 2024 season opener
The opening night of racing hit Hamilton County Speedway this past Saturday night, with winners several winners crowned at the ½-mile dirt oval.
After capturing the opening heat of the Olsen Family USRA Modifieds, Lucas Schott claimed the feature over Kyle Brown and Alex Williamson. Zack VanderBeek was also a heat winner.
Bill Crimmins came out ahead of Reid Keller for the Seneca Foundry USRA Stock Cars checkered flag. Crimmins moved up from seventh to first.
Myles Michehl and Nate Whitehurst were both heat winners.
Ty Griffin scored a feature win at his home track in the Stein Heating and Cooling USRA B-Mods ahead of Doug McCollough. Griffith and Ben Moudry scored heat wins.
The Diamond In The Rough USRA Hobby Stocks feature went to Chris Hovden after he won the second heat. Dustin Gulbrandson and Jeremy Crimmins also won heat races.
Oliver Monson claimed the heat and feature titles in the A1 Automotive USRA Tuners as Derrick Stewart won the Jerry Goebel State Farm Super Late Models feature. Jeff Tharp and Stewart were heat winners.
The SLMR East Series season opener is set for Saturday with SLMR Late Models, Olsen Family USRA Modifieds, Seneca Foundry USRA Stock Cars, Stein Heating and Cooling USRA B-Mods, Diamond In The Rough USRA Hobby Stocks and A1 Automotive USRA Tuners all hitting the track.
Pits open at 4 p.m., grandstands at 5 p.m. and hot laps at 6:15 p.m. Racing will start at 6:40 p.m. or as soon as hot laps are finished.
