South Hamilton back at home

JEWELL — A week after getting back into the win column, the South Hamilton football team looks to put together another positive streak this week.
The Hawks return home to host Nodaway Valley here Friday night at Taylor Field.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
Last Friday, South Hamilton (3-1 overall, 1-0 in district) opened district play with a convincing road win at West Central Valley, 56-8.
It was another dominating performance on the ground for the Hawks, as they rushed for 512 yards and scored eight touchdowns. Nick Severseike had 104 and four while four other players found the end zone.
Ashton Williams, Tjerdan Johnson and Kolby Hodnefield all went over 80 yards. Williams, Brayden Young, Noah Gunderson and Jose Babcock scored touchdowns.
Severseike, a junior, has already rushed for 470 yards and eight scores on the year. Gunderson has 243, Hodnefield has 240 and Williams 214.
South Hamilton’s defense was also strong, holding West Central Valley to 75 yards in the air and just 67 on the ground. Owen Duns had a sack and Carter Stolee recovered a fumble.
Nodaway Valley (0-4, 0-1) fell to Woodward-Granger, 46-0. They have also suffered losses at the hands of Shenandoah, Central Decatur and Mount Ayr this year, scoring just 20 points total.
Ashton Honnold has a team-leading 111 yards rushing with Eli Harris throwing for 44 yards with a rushing score. As a team, the Wolverines have just 264 yards of total offense through four games.
