When the dust settles and the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union’s State Basketball Tournament is done and over with, it is time to start handing out the postseason accolades.

In a recent announcement by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association, South Hamilton senior Hallee Feaker was named to the Class 2A Northeast All-District team.

Feaker joins Ellary Knock, Payton Petersen and Jadyn Petersen of Dike-New Hartford, Denver’s Grace Hennessy, Jesup’s Laney Pilcher, Hudson’s Brooklyn Love, Ellen Waller and Kendall Riherd of Aplington-Parkersburg, Morgan Neuroth of East Marshall, East Buchanan’s Laynee Hogan and Grundy Center’s Carlie Willis.

Bruce Dall was named the district’s coach of the year, and was recognized as Class 2A’s Coach of the Year.

Feaker paced the Hawks with 405 points, 171 rebounds, 52 steals, 36 assists and six blocks. The senior also led South Hamilton to a 9-5 record within the Heart of Iowa Athletic Conference and 14-7 overall.

Amanda Ostrem also received recognition, as she was placed on the 2022-2023 Academic All-State Team.
