JEWELL — The South Hamilton football team had trouble solving No. 4 (Class 2A) West Marshall here Friday night, suffering their first loss of the season, 41-6.

The Trojans (3-0 overall) used a 21-point second quarter to put separation between themselves and the Hawks (2-1), taking a 28-0 lead into the half.

West Marshall would score twice more in the third, as Peyton Hart accounted for five touchdowns. Hart was 8-for-14 passing for 153 yards with two scores, ran the ball 16 times for 84 yards and two TDs, and returned the opening kickoff of the game 91 yards for a score.

Grahm Nason caught three passes for 64 yards and both touchdowns, with Ben Gonzalez also reaching the end zone for West Marshall.

The Trojans ran for 205 yards as a team, while the defense forced four turnovers and had two sacks.

South Hamilton will look to regroup when they hit the road to face winless Belmond-Klemme (0-3) on Friday night. The Hawks won last year, 38-7.
