To the editor To the COWARDS that stole my yard sign in the dark of the night, go ahead and keep sneaking around in the dark, because WE ARE NOT GOING BACK. If you stay silent and fail to rock the boat in this war between good & evil your life may be easier, but your childrens’ won't. Any party telling you who you can love, what gender you are, what states you can travel to, which books you can read, which history you can learn, what prayers you should say, and what you can and cannot do with your own body, doesn't care one bit about freedom. To the editor Sons of the American Legion held its annual Fly-in Breakfast Sunday, September 8th, and it was a great success. The Sons would like to thank WC Custom Meats, Fareway, the Airport Commission, and Storm Flying Service. Special thanks to Steve Struchen and Chad Davis for their pancake flipping skills and Hamilton County Veterans Service Officer Ryan Sawyer. Scholarship awardees will be announced in the spring. It’s October and this is Pastor Appreciation Month. With regular church attendance in the United States on the decline this observance could seem to be losing importance. As someone for whom faith is important, I maintain it is more important than ever. A few decades ago singer Ray Stevens wrote and made famous a comical number called “The Haircut Song.” “When you get a haircut,” Stevens sang, “be sure to go back home. When you get a haircut, get a barber you have known.” He goes on to tell of the harrowing experiences he experienced in unfamiliar barbershops.
