To the Editor:

I am writing to encourage my fellow community members to support Scot Ely in his campaign for school board. Scot is exactly the type of leader we need guiding the future of our schools.

As a former Webster City Police Officer and currently an Iowa DCI Special Agent in the Major Crimes Unit, Scot has built his career on keeping people safe and making sound, responsible decisions. He understands the importance of fiscal responsibility and will ensure that taxpayer dollars are managed wisely while keeping the focus on students.

Scot is deeply rooted in our community. He grew up here, he and his wife are raising their family here, and their children attend our local schools. His wife serves on the county Board of Supervisors, and together they share a commitment to strengthening our community through public service.

Most importantly, Scot will prioritize school safety, student achievement, and support for teachers while bringing transparency and accountability to the board. He is approachable, level-headed, and dedicated to doing what’s right for students, families, and staff.

When you cast your vote, I hope you’ll join me in supporting Scot Ely for school board. Our schools — and our kids — will be better for it.
