MARMO MADALIK

Marmo Madalik, 70, Grand Island Nebraska, died Feb. 16 at his home following a sudden illness. Marmo wished to be cremated and there will be no services held at this time.

Marmo Madalik, son of Kalju and Alvine (Saar) Madalik, was born November 11, 1950 in Germany. He attended school in Webster City and graduated from Webster City High School in 1969. He worked most of his adult life at Modern Farms (in Webster City) then moving to Grand Island, Nebraska, where the company is now called Global Industries. He retired from there in 2017.

He is survived by his sister, Marju Lovelace of Webster City; a niece, Danielle (Lovelace) VanKooten and husband Les; a nephew, Todd Lovelace and his wife Michelle; five great nieces and nephews, Bryce Kauffman, Devyn and Cody VanKooten, Emily, Kaitlyn and Madison Lovelace; and a great-great nephew, Peyton Kauffman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Mati Madalik and niece, Shawna Lovelace.

Marmo was an avid book reader and collector of many things. He was a big sports fan and loved the Iowa Hawkeyes even though he lived in Cornhusker Country.
