JEAN BUZICK

Jean Buzick, 88, of Webster City, died, Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Van Diest Medical Center. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Asbury United Methodist Church with Pastor Jeff Flagg, officiating. Burial will follow the services at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the church.

Carol Jean Thompson, daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Smith Thompson, was born August 1, 1930 in Elliott. She graduated from Elliott schools and received her Teachers Certificate from Tarkio College. She married Bob Mastin in 1955 and to that union Mark and Melanie were born. The couple later divorced. In 1969, she married Gary Buzick at the Little Brown Church in Nashua and to that union Kris was born. The couple resided in Webster City. Jean worked at Electrolux and later at the Freeman Journal for 18 years.

Jean is survived by her children, Mark (Kathy) Mastin of Webster City, Melanie Mastin of San Diego, CA; Kris (Paul) Gregg of Gardner, KS; step-daughter, Dawn (Dennis) Diaz of Lakeview, FL; granddaughter, Erica (Dwain) Watts; great-grandchildren, Parker and Charlie Watts; brother, Jerry (Kathy) Thompson of Ankeny; sister, Margaret Crossland of Allen, TX; sister-in-law, June Thompson of Atlanta, GA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary in 1999; brothers, Jack and Glen Thompson; and sister, Janet Weston.

Jean was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, a very active member of Webster City Garden Club and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed gardening, crafts and playing bridge.
