Just a month ago Webster City learned the former Natural Shrimp building, 401 Des Moines St., would be converted to a high-volume protein supplement factory run by Edible Gardens Prairie Hills, LLC. Ultimately, the 400,000-square-foot manufacturing facility will make 100,000,000 units of the protein drink annually for an as-yet unnamed launch customer. Origin Homes, of West Des Moines, recently approached the city, asking if it would consider lowering the cost of building lots in Brewer Creek Estates. The asking price for ordinary lots in Brewer Creek No. 5 are approximately $16,000, with some larger lots selling for $30,000. Some cost much more.
