Webster City Board of Education meets tonight at 6 p.m.

The Webster City Community school district board meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. tonight at the administration building located at 820 Des Moines St. On the agenda will be a public hearing concerning the 2025-2026 calendar, a report from Superintendent Matt Berninghaus and multiple board policies. In addition, the agenda will include the 2026-2027 school calendar, considering a high school trap shooting team as an official FFA activity and discussion on sharing a communications director position with the city of Webster City.

Hamilton County Supervisors meet Tuesday

The Hamilton County board of supervisors will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the basement conference room. The supervisors meeting will include departmental reports and updates on the county financial planning. Residents can speak at the beginning of the meeting, but action can not be taken unless there is an emergency situation.

Hamilton County AdvoCATES awarded grant

Hamilton County Animal AdvoCATES— HCAAC has been selected to receive an annual grant award of $1,000 from Paws on Your Heart Pet Rescue Support. HCAAC is the 501-C-3 nonprofit organization which works through the physical building of the Cat Hut in Webster City. Through their efforts, they promote responsible cat care, and work to protect, rehome and spay and neuter cats in the Webster City area. Funds received by the HCAAC are used to operate The Cat Hut.
