It’s ugly, it’s cake, it’s at the fair

It’s been a hectic week at the Hamilton County Fair, but there is much more ahead. Friday activities start at 8 a.m. in the show arena and continue non-stop throughout the weekend.

Here is the schedule for Friday and throughout the weekend:

FRIDAY:

4-H/FFA Events:

8:00 a.m. — Beef Show at the Show Arena — Order of categories: Breeding Beef, Sr., Int., Jr. Showmanship, Beginning 1st year Weight Classes;

Selection of Champions,

10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. — 4-H Exhibits on display at Van Diest Building;

1:00 p.m. — County Communications Judging – Van Diest Building;

FAIR EVENTS

10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. — Creative Showcase Exhibits;

11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. — Foam Party-Sponsored by Koop Ag Solutions;

11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. — Coop Kids Zone at the Coop Building;

LIVESTOCK PARADE OF CHAMPIONS

Sunday at Fair Hamilton County Fair Show Arena

All 4-H/FFA livestock exhibitors (no bucket/bottle exhibitors) who have won a championship livestock award are strongly

encouraged to participate in the parade. They may exhibit their ribbons/banners as well as their animals. Registrations for

the Parade of Champions are due to the Extension Office by 10:00 am on Sunday of the Fair (horse registrations are due 15

minutes after the end of the Sunday horse show).

SUPREME HAMILTON COUNTY SENIOR SHOWMANSHIP

Following Parade of Champions Hamilton County Fair Show Arena

The Supreme Hamilton County Senior Showmanship Competition is for individuals who won Senior Showmanship honors in

their own species’ Senior Showmanship competitions earlier during the fair. All qualifying participants will start with their own

animal and will rotate and show each animal in the arena and be interviewed by a superintendent or volunteer. In supreme

showmanship, each contestant must exhibit the same animal they showed in the preliminary contest. Exceptions to be

made only by the superintendent. Exhibitors will be evaluated on the presentation of the animal and knowledge of the species.
