Dutch oven potluck is this evening at Briggs Woods

Hamilton County Conservation will host a Dutch Oven Gathering Potluck this evening at the Outback Area behind the Conservation Office, 2490 Briggs Woods Trail, Webster City.

This event is from 5 to 7 p.m.

Dutch oven cooking is a fun, flavorful way to explore a timeless tradition. Once a survival skill for early pioneers, Dutch oven cooking has become a beloved hobby for outdoor enthusiasts of all ages.

Participants are encouraged to bring:

. A Dutch oven and cookware;

. Food and ingredients to prepare a dish;

. A favorite recipe to share (copies welcome);

. Lawn chairs for outdoor seating;

. Your own plate and silverware (some disposables will be available).

Dishes will be cooked over open campfires or with charcoal, and eaten outdoors or in the Conservation Office display room in case of poor weather.
