Susan Andrew Summer Children’s Theatre Camp returns to WCCT in August
School is almost out. Summer vacation is near. Are you looking for an activity your child would enjoy this summer?
Webster City Community Theatre is again joining forces with Coralville Center for the Performing Arts and Footliters Traveling Playhouse to bring a summer theatre camp experience to area youth August 4-8.
The Suan Andrew Summer Children’s Theatre Program was established last fall by Anderson’s Charitable Fund by Cindy W. Anderson, a childhood friend of Susan’s. Donations made in memory of Susan Stocks Andrew, a dear member of the WCCT theatre family, will be used to reduce the cost of registration for campers.
The workshop is designed for students at all levels of theatre experience who will be 7 years of age by August 4 through those entering 8th grade this fall. Campers are required to attend each day, Monday through Friday, from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm and bring a sack lunch and personal water bottle.
Registration is open and is limited to 40 campers. Register online at www.webstercitycommunitytheatre.org. The non-refundable fee is $45 per camper. The registration deadline is July 21. Emails will be sent to parents/guardians to verify the registration and provide further information. For assistance with registration, contact Loween Getter at 515-297-0846 or grandmaweengetter@gmail.com.
In just one week, campers will audition, rehearse and perform a musical alongside three professional teaching artist. “The School for Spies” is a heart-warming one-hour production with a script by Katie Colletta and music by Jason Sifford. Family and friends will have the opportunity to attend the production on Friday, August 8, at 6:30 pm.
It’s a brand-new year at the School for Spies, an elite training program for spy recruits, run by the Global Intelligence Agency. But when the powerful Moon Cube goes missing under the GIA’s watch, the School is thrown into turmoil. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to join a world of secret agents and espionage to crack the case. Choose your allies wisely and keep your ears and eyes open … all is not as it seems in The School for Spies!
