Iowa Central graduation is Friday
FORT DODGE — Iowa Central Community College will hold its 58th annual commencement on Friday.
Commencement ceremonies will take place at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in Hodges Fieldhouse on the Iowa Central campus in Fort Dodge.
Graduates earning High School Equivalency Diplomas (HSED), Certificates, Diplomas, and Associate of Applied Science, Associate of Applied Arts, and Associate of Professional Studies degrees will participate in the 10 a.m. ceremony.
Graduates earning Associate of General Studies, Associate of Science, Associate of Arts, Practical Nursing, and Associate Degree Nursing will graduate at the 2 p.m. ceremony.
This year’s featured speaker is Kevin Twait, longtime Triton football coach and athletic director. Twait has spent decades shaping Iowa Central’s athletic programs and mentoring student-athletes, leaving a lasting legacy of leadership and service on campus and in the community.
Student addresses will be given by Patricia Westall, Student Senate president, and Shelvee’ Keller, All-Iowa Academic Team & All-USA Academic Team nominee, who will represent the Class of 2025 with reflections on their Iowa Central journey and words of inspiration for fellow graduates.
Also recognized during commencement will be the recipients of the Golden Triton Award. The Golden Triton Award is awarded to one faculty member and one staff member each year in recognition of their excellent service to Iowa Central Community College students. The recipients of this award are nominated by current Iowa Central students. This year’s faculty recipient is Amber Elbert, associate instructor of dental hygiene. The staff recipient for 2025 is Stephanie Sibenaller, assistant coach of dance.
Parents, relatives, and friends are invited to attend the commencement ceremonies. Seating is available in Hodges Fieldhouse, with doors opening at 9 a.m. for the 10 a.m. ceremony and 1 p.m. for the 2 p.m. ceremony. Overflow seating with a livestream of the ceremonies will be available in Decker Auditorium. A reception in the Triton Cafe will follow both ceremonies.
