City wide garage sales will coincide with JunqueFest in Webster City

It’s time to clear out the attic and dive into spring cleaning!

This year The Daily Freeman Journal and the Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce are teaming up to create a new event in conjunction with this years JunqueFest, according to Anna Woodward, Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce director.

Visitors to Webster City can enjoy the American Legion pancake breakfast in the morning. Junquefest vendors and downtown stores will open at 10 a.m.

The Daily Freeman Journal will be creating a map showing all the garage sale locations. Both events will occur on May 24. Junquefest will be taking over the downtown area, while individuals can set up their personal garage sale.

The official citywide map will be printed in the Daily Freeman Journal and will be available online. To get on the map, go online to www.visitwebstercityiowa.com/citywide-garage-sales/. There you can register and make your payment with your name and address and a description of the sale.

There are two types of listings. The Premium listing is $15. For this your address will be listed online and in the Daily Freeman-Journal citywide Garage Sale spread. There is a 200 character limit on the description. Premium listings are listed in bold letters, and they will be given a garage sale pack, with pole signs and stickers.

The second listing will cost $10. This listing provides the address online and is listed in the Daily Freeman-Journal citywide Garage Sale spread, with a 200-character limit on description only.

All sales should begin by 8 a.m. and run until you are ready to wrap up.

The deadline to submit a listing is Tuesday, May 20, at noon to be included in the Daily Freeman Journal and to be on the map.

The annual city-wide cleanup will be held shortly after the citywide garage sales, with those dates set for June 13 and 14.

Sale listings with addresses will be available online at visitwebstercityiowa.com, freemanjournal.net in addition to being printed in the Daily Freeman-Journal.
