Webster City is looking for a few good citizens

Folks, there are multiple ways to help your community

There is perhaps no better way of helping a community move forward than by serving on a volunteer board, commission or committee.

Well, Webster City, here’s your chance.

The City of Webster City is now accepting applications for vacancies on multiple advisory boards and commissions, according to City Clerk Karyl Bonjour.

Here’s a list of vacancies, according to Bonjour:

. Park & Recreation Advisory Commission; there is one vacancy.

. Zoning Board of Adjustment; there is an unexpired term ending 05/31/2027 that needs to be filled, as well as another full-term vacancy.

. City Planning and Zoning Commission; there are two vacancies on this commission.

. Hotel/Motel Tax Board; there is an unexpired public-at-large term ending 05/31/2027 that needs to be filled.

. Wilson Brewer Historic Park Committee; there are two vacancies.

. Traffic Study Committee; there is an unexpired term ending 05/31/2026 that must be filled, as well as one full-term vacancy.

. Senior Citizens Center Advisory Board; there is one full-term vacancy on this board.

. Airport Zoning Board of Adjustment; there is an unexpired term ending 5/31/2026 that must be filled, and there is also one full-term vacancy.

. Airport Zoning Commission; there is an unexpired term ending 5/31/2026 that must be filled.

“This application process is in an effort to ensure diversity and representation of our community,” Bonjour said in a media release. “Applicants must be current residents of Webster City.

Positions are voluntary and applications must be returned to the city clerk’s office.

Applications can be mailed to the attention of the City Clerk, P.O. Box 217, Webster City, IA 50595 or put in the drop box on the west side of City Hall, 400 Second Street, Webster City.

The deadline to submit an application is Wednesday, May 1, by 5 p.m.
