A peek inside

Fresh off a successful fundraiser, LIFT WC hosts a glimpse of progress at the historic Elks Club building.

Darcy Swon, LIFT WC president, takes the Daily Freeman-Journal on a tour inside the historic Elks Club building the group is working hard to renovate. LIFT’s big fundraiser Sunday made an as-yet-unknown amount for the multi-million-dollar project. “There is some amazing architecture in Webster City, we just have to look up,” Swon said.

The ballroom in the historic Elks Club building in the 700 block of Second Street in downtown Webster City, has been cleared and the ceiling tiles removed. The photo is looking south from the ballroom onto Second Street.
