Wolfe Family Vision Center in Webster City announces the arrival of Dr. Megan M. Petersen to their office. Dr. Petersen spent 11 years practicing optometry in the Des Moines and Ames area before joining Wolfe in 2022 to provide care to patients in the Webster City and Clarion communities.

An Algona native, Dr. Petersen provides routine family eye care services including eye exams, prescribing eyewear and contact lenses in Webster City. Dr. Petersen is skilled in the treatment and medical management of many ocular diseases including cataract, glaucoma, and retinal conditions. She enjoys helping her patients of all ages see better and being part of their journey to achieve the best vision possible.

She looks forward to serving the patients in the area alongside Drs. Tesdahl and Haberman at the Webster City office.

Dr. Petersen received her Bachelor of Science degree with a major in biology and minor in chemistry from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She went on to earn her Doctorate of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee where she also completed a residency in ocular disease. She completed multiple externships including time at Tate County Vision Center in Senatobia, Mississippi and at Wolfe Eye Clinic in West Des Moines, Iowa.Dr. Petersen and her husband, Brian, are both originally from Algona, Iowa and are enjoying the opportunity to return to NW Iowa with Wolfe Eye Clinic. The couple have three children and enjoy taking part in their many activities. Mr. Petersen has accepted a teaching position with Webster City Community Schools and will begin teaching in the Fall of 2022 as they relocate to the community this summer. In their free time, you might find them enjoying the outdoors, attending ISU and UNI sporting events, and spending time with friends and family.Dr. Petersen will serve patients at Wolfe Family Vision Center in Webster City as her primary office but will also see patients in the newly acquired Wolfe Family Vision Center location in Clarion. The Clarion location at 219 N Main Street, was acquired by Wolfe Eye Clinic as part of a recent merger with David E. Gildner, O.D. After 40 years in practice, Dr. Gildner joined efforts with Wolfe Eye Clinic at both his Belmond and Clarion locations. These Wolfe Family Vision Centers, join ten other locations across the state of Iowa including Albia, Fairfield, Grundy Center, Humboldt, Sac City, Story City, Traer, Toledo, Waverly and Webster City. Both locations will continue to offer the same high-quality care and friendly atmosphere the communities have come to expect.### Wolfe Eye Clinic was established more than 100 years ago in Marshalltown when in 1919 Otis R. Wolfe M.D. moved his specialty ophthalmology practice to Marshalltown, reportedly because it was located along a busy railroad line in a central location in the state. Wolfe Eye Clinic today has more than 50 doctors bringing patient care to over 40 communities throughout Iowa including 12 main clinics in Ames, Carroll, Cedar Falls, Cedar Rapids, Fort Dodge, Iowa City, Marshalltown, Ottumwa, Pleasant Hill, Spencer, Waterloo and West Des Moines and 12 Wolfe Family Vision Centers across the state.
