The City Council of Webster City will hold three public hearings Monday night as they meet in the first regular meeting of the month.

The meeting will be held virtually at 6 p.m. on the Zoom conferencing platform. Those wishing to join the meeting can do so by entering the 840 6499 1106. The public can also join the meeting by watching on the city’s Facebook page.

The first hearing at 6:05 p.m. will be held on the Brewer Creek Shelter Project. Following the hearing, the council is expected to approve the plans, specifications, form of contract and estimate of cost. They will also award the contract.

The second hearing concerns another park shelter project. The council will approve the plans, specifications, corm of contract and estimate of cost for the West Twin Park shelter project. They will also award the contract for the project.

The third public hearing will be held on the plans, specifications, proposed form of contract and estimate of cost for furnishing materials for the Second and Beach Street Electrical project.

The council will consider a resolution to authorize and execute a development agreement between the city of Webster City and Daybreak Foods as well as a resolution to authorize and execute a purchase agreement and a resolution authorizing the amendment of the Southeast Urban Renewal Area. Lindsay Henderson, community vitality director, hosted a site visit with Daybreak Foods Inc. in February to identify a potential location for their new operations facility. The firm indicated interest in acquiring 6 acres in the Southeast Industrial Park in Webster City.

A request from the Police Chief Shiloh Mork for the purchase of a base radio from Motorola and Electronic engineering in the amount of $218,390. According to a memo to the council, Mork said the current policy base radio was purchased used in the early 2000s to replace equipment that was relocated to the sheriff’s office as part of their new jail project. The police base radio has operated since that time continuously. Mork also said the supply of repair parts has been depleted and the radio can no longer be repaired.

The council will also consider entering a three-year agreement with Williams & Company PC of LeMars to provide auditing services for fiscal years ending 2021, 2022 and 2023.

An agreement for architectural services with RDG related to the Wilson Brewer Park Depot restoration will be considered. The agreement is for $24,580. Larry Flaws, director of recreation and public grounds, said the architect will create a professional rendering of the building to present to the community as the Wilson Brewer Park Committee looks to raise funds for renovation.

The council will review an agreement with the Pavement Doctor, Fort Dodge, for providing spray injection patching services in the amount of $15,000 per year, for a total of $45,000.
