County Democrats hold caucus

About 20 Democrats from across Hamilton County on Sunday took part in the annual odd-year county caucus and organizational meeting.

During the meetings at Shelter 2 at Briggs Wood Park, Central committee officers were elected for two-year terms. Those elected to serve are County Chair: Cathy Dingman of Webster City, County-Vice chair Janet Adam of Webster City, Secretary: Kathy Getting of Williams, Treasurer: Julie Ehresman of Stratford. New bylaws, which had been reviewed and revised by the central committee, were adopted as well.

A majority of the meeting was spent talking about new directions and actions that could be implemented. A number of new actions around the themes of service and messaging were chosen that the central committee and volunteers will implement.

The annual caucus and organizational meetings typically occur in March but were delayed until they could be held outdoors when chances of pleasant weather were greater in efforts to reduce COVID risks. Sunday’s timely warmer weather made the gamble worth the wait.
