Audit report for VDMC released

For public record, the accounting firm of Seim Johnson, LLP released an audit report for Van Diest Medical Center, Webster City, Iowa on December 10, 2020:

The Hospital’s operating revenue totaled $30,562,261 for the year ended June 30, 2020, a 2.5% increase from the prior year. Total operating revenue included $28,394,734 in net patient service revenue and $2,167,527 in other operating revenue. Net nonoperating revenue was $1,993,029 which was comprised of a $6,591 loss on the disposal of capital assets, $112,765 in investment income, $2,049,393 in property tax revenue, $344,291 in interest expense, and $181,753 in noncapital grants and contributions.

Operating expenses for the year totaled $32,784,722, a 0.6% increase from the prior year, and included $19,598,102 for salaries and employee benefits; $6,010,694 for supplies and other expenses; $3,898,558 for professional fees and purchased services; and $3,277,368 for depreciation and amortization.
