New business opens on Des Moines St.

A new home decor and gift shop has opened in Webster City, just in time for holiday shoppers to find special, personalized items.

Niche is located right next door to Mornin’ Glory Coffee Shop and is owned by Debi Seiser. Until recently, Seiser was working in healthcare at Iowa Specialty Hospital.

“I’ve had businesses before and so I decided to start this up. It’s something different and it’s something that I can do with my mom,” she said. Her mother, Cheryl, is a frequent visitor and helps out in the shop during the day.

The shop is filled with merchandise created by Seiser.

“Everything is made by us and everything can be personalized. T-shirts, mugs, wooden signs and more,” she said. “We thought this would be something fun for the town.”

And the community is responding by stopping in to see all of the unique items on display.

“I’ve had a really good response,” she said. In addition, the business also has a Facebook and Instagram presence where customers can see some of the items she has on display. She plans to offer items for sale online as well.

“I’ve gotten probably 27 orders in the first week,” she said. “The first weekend open was really good. So far so good.”

Shoppers will find some unusual and fun gift ideas, according to Seiser. There are Santa-cam ornaments for the Christmas tree to keep an eye on all the good boys and girls. Coffee mugs, tumblers, koozies and keychains can be offer a personal touch for those on the Christmas list.

“We’ve got some of the color-changing cups. When you put cold drinks in them, they change colors.”

For the Lynx fans, there are t-shirts and sweatshirts, cups, mugs and water bottles, as well as stocking caps.

A variety of wooden signs that set the holiday mood for a home line one wall of the shop. There are messages wishing “Joy, Hope and Peace” for the season as well as pieces decorated with bows and berries wishing visitors “Merry Christmas.”

A doormat which proclaims, “Hi. I’m Mat,” has been a popular item with shoppers, she said.

Seiser said there’s still time to place an order in time for the holidays. Shoppers can stop in to see what’s available or visit Niche-Iowa on Facebook.

“We’d love to make something special and personalized,” she said.
