Kathy Yates, 74, of Webster City, died Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Southfield Wellness Community. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 14, 2020 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Webster City, with Father Stephen Meyer and Deacon Dan Hurt officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery. Foster Funeral and Cremation is entrusted with the services.

Kathy Yates, daughter of James Eldrige and Eunice Passwaters Yates, was born August 4, 1946 in the Iowa Falls Hospital. The family had resided in Williams, Dows, then Webster City. She attended St. Thomas school, Washington Central, and graduated from Lincoln High in Webster City. After graduating, she worked at Steve’s Super Valu bakery, then Barstad’s Bakery and Fuhs bakery. She also worked in food Service at St. Thomas school. She worked in housekeeping at the Hamilton County Public Hospital, then retiring and enjoying Bingo, going to the casino at Tama and listening to country music. The picnics in the backyard, with family and friends was another great enjoyment.

Kathy is survived by sisters, Janet Yates and Larita Manship; brother, Andy Yates and good friend, Marilyn Krause, all of Webster City; sisters-in-law, Ardys Yates, Sandy Yates, Verona Yates; 14 nieces and nephews; many great nieces and great nephews; several great-great nieces and great-great nephews; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James, John, Wendell, Dean, Larry (Joe) and sisters, Evelyn Marie (in infancy) and Maxine Fitchhorn; brothers-in-law, John Manship, Russell Fitchhorn, sister-in-law, Charlene (Parish) Yates, also several aunts and uncles.
