Five more positive cases in the county

The number of positive COVID-19 cases continued to rise Tuesday with another five cases reported since Sunday.

The total number of positive cases as of Tuesday night climbed to 124. A total of 1,508 people in Hamilton County have been tested for the coronavirus.

Of those testing positive, 65 percent are symptomatic while 12 percent are asymptomatic or showing now symptoms. Sixteen percent of the tests are pending investigation.

Sixty-nine individuals have recovered from COVID-19 and there have been no deaths related to coronavirus in Hamilton County.

Surrounding counties have also seen surges in positive cases. Webster and Boone counties each have 101 positive cases. Hardin County has a total of 44 positive cases. Story County has had 259 positive tests while Wright County cases have climbed to 291.

Statewide there have been 231,017 individuals tested for coronavirus and 24,178 have tested positive. A total of 15,118 of those testing positive have recovered. The state’s COVID-19 death toll stands at 669.
