Briggs Woods Golf open for business with COVID-19 precautions

Briggs Woods Golf Course is now open for play, but golfers will have to observe several restrictions in light of the COVID-19 pandemic in order to hit the links.

Officials with Briggs Woods Golf Course said the course will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather and usage permitting. Tee times will be scheduled every 15 minutes and only four people will be allowed in a group.

Members will not be required to check into the clubhouse. There will be a clipboard outside for members to sign in. At this time, there will be no flag sticks, bunker rakes, ball washers, or water coolers on the course.

Only one person will be allowed on a course-owned golf cart at any time. Couples and families are allowed to have have the same couple or family on one cart. Carts returning from a round are to park on the south side of the clubhouse to allow staff to sanitize in in between rounds.

The clubhouse is closed until further notice, but golfers can call from outside of the building. Payments must be made by phone to 832-9572 with a debit card or credit card. All food and drink orders will be placed outside. A line will be formed outside the door and customers must practice social distancing while waiting in line for food and drink orders.

A limited menu of canned beer, pop and prepackaged snacks are available.

No outside coolers or beverages are allowed. Golfers are asked to remove all coolers from golf carts. A sack with ice will be provided for beverages.

No public restrooms are available at this time, according to course officials.

Golfers are expected to leave the course once their round is complete. Customers are encouraged to practice social distancing by remaining at least six feet apart at all times. Rental clubs are not available at this time.
