A program entitled “The Northwest Passage in the Era of Climate Change” will be presented on Saturday, April 28 at 1 p.m. at the Mulberry Center Church in the Wilson Brewer Park, 220 Ohio St., Webster City.

David Thoreson, Humanities Iowa presenter, will talk about his travels through the Northwest Passage and the changes he’s seen. Using his unique northern experiences, Thoreson explores the state of the polar ice cap, changes in native villages, culture, tourism, resource development and te northern sea routes with increasing shipping and commerce in the Arctic.

Thoreson will discuss and host a discussion on why the Arctic is considered the epicenter of the climate debate and what the future holds for the Northwest and Northeast Passages.
