Marilyn Marshall, 75, Eagle Grove

Marilyn Ann Marshall, the daughter of Charles and Serena (Robinson) Marshall, was born November 24, 1941, in Woolstock, Iowa. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth, graduating from Eagle Grove High School in 1961.

Marilyn started working at a cafe in Woolstock for Lillan Shehorn when she was 16 years old. In 1970, she purchased the cafe and renamed it “Marilyn’s Cafe”. After 40 years of cooking, Marilyn retired in 2010 and moved to an apartment in Eagle Grove.

Marilyn was a member of the Woolstock United Methodist Church. Marilyn loved cooking and making special treats for her customers to thank them.

Marilyn passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, at the age of 75 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Donald Marshall and an infant sister, Judy Marshall.

Marilyn is survived by her nephew and three nieces.

Services will be held Friday, January 6, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Burial will be in French Church Cemetery near Woolstock.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
