Fareway welcomes new assistant manager

There is a new face walking the aisles of Fareway. Cody Peck is Fareway’s newest Assistant Manager. Peck is just finishing up his third week on the job. Peck’s first official day was August 4th.

What started out as a way for Peck to pay the bills in high school, became the path for Peck to climb the Fareway ladder and learn the skills needed to one day manage a Fareway store of his own.

“It’s a good industry to be in. It’s a great business. I get to work with great people. You learn a lot,” Peck said.

The twenty-seven year-old Ottumwa native started out as a part-time employee at the Ottumwa Fareway in 2005 as a junior in high school. Peck has also worked at Fareway in Vinton and Sioux City full-time. Peck received a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Management from Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa.

“They said there was an opportunity here in Webster City, so here I am,” Peck stated. Peck is currently in the management training program at Fareway. “I’m learning what I can from Matt (Shannon) to go to the next level,” said Peck.

“The biggest difference is duties is that now I am in charge of all of the sections, not just an individual section. I am also in charge of making sure the customer is taken care of,” Peck added.

“I love Webster City, everyone has been awesome here,” said Peck.
