Susan Ahlers Leman to lead First American Bank, Fort Dodge

FORT DODGE John A. Fisher, CEO and President, First American Bank, announced that Susan Ahlers Leman has been promoted to Fort Dodge Market President. Ms. Ahlers Leman started with First American Bank in 2001 as Vice President & Senior Trust Officer and was promoted to Senior Vice President/Private Wealth Advisor in 2011. Most recently, in 2014, her role in the Fort Dodge market was expanded as she took on additional responsibilities.

Ms. Ahlers Leman will continue to serve as the Bank’s Senior Fiduciary Officer/Private Wealth Advisor for the bank as a relationship manager for nonprofit, endowment and charitable institutional clients. She also works extensively with individuals and families primarily in the areas of investment management, retirement, gift and estate planning.

Ms. Ahlers Leman is very active in the Fort Dodge community, serving as a board member for the Fort Dodge Community Foundation & United Way, Iowa Central Community College Foundation, Blanden Charitable Foundation, Fort Dodge Fine Arts Association, Stage Door Productions, and Noon Rotary Club. She holds a BA Honors Degree from the University of Iowa and a JD, with high distinction, from the University of Iowa College of Law. She holds a Certified Wealth Strategist designation and has her Iowa Insurance license in Life, Health and Accident. Prior to joining First American Bank in 2001, she practiced law for seven years in Fort Dodge, focusing primarily on estate planning and trust services.

Ms. Ahlers Leman and her husband, Rod, reside in Fort Dodge and have five children.
