Philipsen earns public librarian certification

Iowa Library Services-State Library has announced that Rebecca Philipsen of Kendall Young Library, Webster City, has completed all requirements for public librarian certification.

The purpose of the Iowa Certification Program for Public Librarians is to improve library service to Iowans by developing the skills of public library staff members. Certification is a voluntary program. To receive a certificate, individuals must meet certain work experience and/or educational requirements. Certificates are valid for three years. Recertification requires a participant to complete an additional 45 hours of continuing education every three years.
