George and Kathy Gourley of Stanhope have announced the engagement and upcoming wedding of their daughter Sawyer Gourley to William Higgins. Will is the son of Scott and Aimee Higgins of Cary, Illinois.

Sawyer graduated from Webster City High School in 2011 and Iowa State University in 2015 with a degree in Child, Adult and Family Services with an emphasis on children up to age 8. She works as a three-year-old preschool teacher for Formative Years Growing and Learning Center in Ames.

Her fiance graduated from Cary Grove High School in 2010 and from ISU in 2014 with a degree in Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering. He is currently working as a plant engineer for POET?Biorefining in Gowrie.

The couple will be married June 18 at Asbury United Methodist Church in Webster City.
