Cat Hut seeks stocking stuffers

During the month of December, the Cat Hut is collecting stocking stuffers for cats. The Cat Hut, which is located at 1118 2nd Street in Webster City, has plenty of cats and kittens available for adoption at this time. Cat adoptions are up, but supplies are down, and the Cat Hut is seeking help to make the holidays fun for new kittens and families alike. The goal is to fill a stocking for each cat up for adoption, so that each cat has toys and treats to go home with them when they are adopted. Blue Christmas Service on Sunday night

The Webster City Ministerial Association will be holding the annual Blue Christmas Service on Sunday night, December 7 at 6 p.m. at the First Congregational Church. The church is located at 1000 Willson Avenue in Webster City. The service is jointly sponsored by Fosters Funeral and Cremation Center, Boman Funeral Home and the Ministerial Association. This is a service of healing to help those feeling the loss of family, friends or other losses, and are trying to cope with the challenges of this season that should be full of love and joy.

Webster City Community Christmas Concert this weekend

At the end of the holiday parade, the Webster City Community Chorus will be singing with the Webster City Community Handbell Choir at the Trinity Lutheran Church. The flute ensemble will not be performing this year, as previously announced. The church is located at 1229 Kathy Lane in Webster City. The first concert will be Saturday at 6 p.m., and a second concert will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 7.

Organizers of the Seniors and Law Enforcement Together — SALT — program have announced the next SALT meeting will be held Thursday, December 4, at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Webster City. The event will be held in the newly remodeled social hall of the church and will begin at 9 a.m. with coffee, a light breakfast and free blood pressure checks conducted by Van Diest Medical Center. Kendall Young Library previews December activities

Kendall Young Library will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 27. It will also be closed on Wednesday, December 24, and Thursday, December 25, as well as Wednesday, December 31, and January 1, during the holiday season. Patrons of all ages are invited on Saturday, December 6, between 10 a.m. and noon to try their hand at cookie decorating in conjunction with the Webster City Christmas in the City events.
