Junquefest 2026 registration begins today

Street vendors for Junquefest 2026 can begin registering for the May 23 event today through the Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce. The downtown event includes antiques and collectibles, artisan goods, street food, farm fresh spirits, downtown retail businesses and restaurants and live music. Opening at 10 a.m. on May 23, the event is free and open to the public until 5 p.m.

Gun Show this weekend at Hamilton County Fairgrounds

The Hamilton County Fairgrounds will be the site for a gun show this weekend. The event, sponsored by Midwest Event is located at 1200 Bluff St., in the Ed Prince building and the Show Arena. The cost is $10 per day, or a $14 weekend pass. There is a discount admission for military, vets and first responders with ID.

Over the Speed Limit Players have auditions Sunday

Auditions for “Fiddler on the Roof” will be held Sunday and Tuesday. The auditions will be at 6 p.m. at the Webster City Community Theatre Performing Arts Center, located at 1001 Willson Ave. The Over the Speed Limit Players is a new theater group being organized as a branch of the Webster City Community Theatre for those over the age of 55.

Hamilton County Fair announces fundraiser

The Hamilton County Fair Expo will be holding its annual fundraising dinner on Jan. 31. This will be held in the Hamilton County Show Arena. The price for tickets are $200 for a table of six or $40 a ticket. Drinks included. Doors open at 5 p.m. Call the fair office at 515-832-1443.

Puzzle exchange this week at Kendall Young Library

The Kendall Young Library puzzle exchange is going on this week until Saturday. Donations of like new puzzles that are either 500 or 1000 piece puzzles will be accepted at the library. For every puzzle donated, a ticket will be given. Participants can then choose the puzzles they would like to take home with them. For more information, contact the library at 515-832-9100.

Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce begins registration for JunqueFest 2026

Thursday is the first day the Chamber of Commerce will accept registrations for Junquefest 2026. The event is scheduled for May 23. Registrants are allowed to choose their locations, but early birds get the best locations of their choice. Businesses who are in the downtown district where Junquefest will be located need to advise the Chamber of Commerce today if they are planning to use the space in front of their location, or the location may be assigned to a vendor.
