Congregate Meals for week of March 16

Congregate meals are served Mondays through Thursdays each week. To attend or pick up meals please call 515-832-6161. The meals are prepared in-house located at 604 Prospect St., or the north entrance of the RSVP building at 749 2nd St. in Webster City. This program is funded in part by donations, a nominal charge per meal and the Elderbridge Agency on Aging. Donations are always welcome and encouraged. Spaghetti supper to fund Scouts summer camp

Chicken Soup contest is Friday at The Cat Hut

The Cat Hut staff and board members of the Hamilton County Advocates will compete to see who makes the best chicken noodle soup from 1 to 4 p.m. on Friday. This will be held at the The Cat Hut, 1118 Second St. in Webster City. Samples of each of the soups will be available to taste, and votes will be made in the form of donations for designating the favorite soup; all donations will then be given to The Cat Hut to help fund their trap/neuter/release program. CPR training at Williams Library on Friday, March 27

Sara Zorn will teach a free CPR training class held at the Willliams Public Library. This will be held in the Williams Library, with a time to be determined, based on interest. The library is located at 216 Main St. For more information, call the library director Gabby Streigle at 515-667-2167.

Scholarships available from Van Diest Medical Center Auxiliary

The Van Diest Medical Center Auxiliary is offering six scholarships of $1,000 each to 2026 high school graduates wishing to pursue a career in healthcare. Individuals going back to further their education in the healthcare field will also be considered. Applicants must be a resident of Hamilton County or a graduate of any high school within Hamilton County, currently working or have a parent working at Van Diest Medical Center at the time of the award. Drop in activities to be held at Kendall Young Library on Saturday

The Kendall Young Library will host drop-in activities for children in the library’s children’s department from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Magna-Tiles will be available to create or build.
