April 1 is deadline for reservations to attend Al Welsh Orchestra performance
The performance of the Al Welsh Orchestra big band on April 17 will be a unique opportunity to enjoy the dance music of the Big Band era. Sponsored by the Jay Nugent reunion, the evening will include those returning for a weekend reflecting on the memories and music from the WCHS classes of 1975 through 1981, who were in the band then directed by Nugent. American Legion to host baked potato bar Friday
The American Legion will be hosting a loaded baked potato dinner on Friday at their location at 726 Second St. This will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. or until they run out of food. The toppings for the baked potato bar include whipped butter, sour cream, bacon bits, chives, black beans, black olives, salsa, chili, pulled pork, (fresh) steamed broccoli and three cheese options. This is a fundraiser for the Legion, and proceeds from this meal will be used to help repair the flags flown in the cemeteries and other American Legion projects. The Adult Evening Book Club discussion will be about “Ragtime” by E.L. Doctorow. This book club will meet from 6 to 7 p.m. on April 8 at the Kendall Young Library. The April Book Club discussion will be on “A Cow for College” by James Kenyon. We will meet from 1 to 3 p.m. on April 14 at the Kendall Young Library to listen to a book talk with author James Kenyon to discuss. A book for the May Book Club will be announced at this time. Women’s Club opens Saturday with new exhibits
The Webster City Women’s Club will be opening their 2026 exhibits at the Jane Young House this Saturday at 10 a.m. The Jane Young House is located at 629 Elm St., where the new vintage clothing exhibits are assembled. The Jane Young House exhibits are open to the public each month on the fourth Saturday. The house is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on those Saturdays.
