Rock Ribbon Retreat Grand Opening Wednesday

The Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce invites the community to celebrate the grand opening of Rock River Retreat with a ribbon cutting ceremony at noon on Wednesday. Rock River Retreat is located at 1792 280th St., south of Webster City. Owned and operated by Connie Ingraham, Rock River Retreat is a welcoming new venue designed to bring people together through faith, fellowship, and community connection. Primarily serving groups and families, Rock River Retreat provides a space to strengthen faith and build meaningful relationships within the communities they serve.

Van Diest Auxiliary sponsors uniform, scrubs and clothing sale today

The Van Diest Medical Center Auxiliary is sponsoring a Uniform, Scrub, and Clothing Sale with Emerson’s at The Willow, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday in the Clinic Board Room at the hospital. The Van Diest Medical Center is located at 2350 Hospital Drive. Emerson’s at The Willow is a clothing store located in Mason City. The sale will feature medical uniforms, scrubs, shoes/footwear, clothing, and gift items for purchase. Cash and credit cards will be accepted. The Cat Hut Slumber Pawty begins at noon Saturday

The Cat Hut, located at 1118 Second St. in Webster City, offers a slumber pawty with lots of paws, as The Cat Hut joins a nationwide fundraiser to support their capture, spay, neuter and release program. Funds are still being collected for the 24 hour marathon. In addition, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday during the Shelter Slumber Pawty, they will have a hot dog meal for a freewill donation. All proceeds go to helping local cats.

UCC Thrift Sale begins today at 10 a.m.

The First Congregational United Church of Christ opens the annual thrift sale at 10 a.m. today. The church is located at 1000 Willson Ave. in Webster City The sale will continue until 6 p.m. today, and open again on Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon. Items are sold for $7 per bag unless marked. All proceeds from this sale are redistributed to other organizations in the Webster City area.

Third Thursday Coffee to be held at Daily Freeman Journal

The Third Thursday Coffee, sponsored by the Webster City Chamber of Commerce, will be held at the Daily Freeman Journal Thursday. The Daily Freeman Journal is located at 720 Second St. in Webstser City. All are welcome to attend. The coffee runs from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Tours of the printing operation will also be conducted throughout the morning. Publisher Grant Gibbons will be attending to meet and greet.
