The Kendall Young Library will be offering a number of adult programs throughout the month of August.
Adult Daytime Book Club – The Daytime book club is open to anyone in the community who would like to participate. The book club discussion this month about "All the Colors of the Dark" by Chris Whitaker offers an opportunity to sit in and learn how a book club works. Each month the books are available at the adult checkout count to participate, they do not have to be purchased. This group meets next on Tuesday, August 11, from 1:30-2:30 p.m.
The Adult Evening Book Club will discuss "There Is No Place For Us" by Brian Goldstone. This group also allows new members, and encourages participants to check out the books that are available at the Kendall Young Library. The next session will be held Wednesday, August 12 from 6 to 7 p.m. for the book discussion. There will also be a special presentation by UPLIFT.
The Kendall Young Library also offers an adult Do It Yourself group, which will meet again on Monday, August 31, from 5:30-7 p.m. During that evening, this DIY group will explore the art of flower arranging. Tyler Burton from Peacock House Flowers will be sharing some tips and tricks to a beautiful arrangement. This is a free event and no sign-up is required.
The monthly Spice of the Month club also will have a new spice available starting on Friday, August 7. The August spice featured will be Ajwain. Samples will be available throughout the month while supplies last. This is a fun way to explore different cultures and flavors. Each month there will be a featured herb or spice. A limited number of kits will be available each month with a small sample, information about the spice, and a couple recipes to try.
