Staley tosses no-hitter for Lynx

The Webster City baseball team scored another decisive victory, besting Storm Lake here Tuesday night, 13-0 in five innings.

Alex Staley threw a no-hitter, striking out six and working around seven walked batters to not allow a run. He also worked two walks himself at the plate, scoring a run.

Aiden Hrnicek and Jaxon Griffith each had a double for the Lynx (10-0 overall), as Hrnicek drove in four. Griffith scored three runs and plated three more, finishing 2-for-2.

Braylon Dyvig was 2-for-3 with three runs scored and an RBI, as Matthew Tesdahl drove in two runs and Kaleb Hansen one while stealing two bases.

Webster City scored three runs in the first, one in the second, six in the third and three in the fourth, taking advantage of 11 walked batters by the Tornadoes and three more batters hit by pitches.

Of the 10 wins by the Lynx this year, six have been decided early.

Webster City played South Hardin at Principal Park in Des Moines on Wednesday and heads to the Newell-Fonda Tournament this Saturday with the host Mustangs, Hinton and Council Bluffs St. Albert.
