Klaver wins Hamilton County in Iowa House District 55 race; Turek and Hinson to face off in U.S. Senate race

Ballots still being counted

With 1886 ballots cast in Hamilton County, the final tally showed Beau Klaver likely to face Cynthia Oppedal Paschen in the fall election. Klaver received, 1,048 votes, as opposed to 135 for Kurtis Bower and 88 for Brian Young in the county. With 89% of precincts reporting in the state, Klaver had received 71% of the vote.

Other counties in the district were still reporting for final numbers.

Josh Turek carried Hamilton County in the Democratic U.S. Senate Race, as did Ashley Hinson for the Republican race. Both were declared the winner in early unofficial results and will face each other in the fall election.

In the race for Governor, Randy Feenstra and Zach Lahn had a tight race throughout the state, with only a few thousand votes separating them, and 89% of the statewide ballots reporting at 10:30 p.m. Lahn had a slight lead over Feenstra in Hamilton County.

Hamilton County has a total of 9600 registered voters, nearly 20% voted in the primary.
