Smiles abounded Friday for the ribbon cutting at Osweiler's as Sonia Rodriguez cut the ribbon to officially mark the change of ownership that occurred on Feb. 2. Members of her family, including her husband, mother, grandmother and many others were joined by many from the Chamber of Commerce and business community.

The slice through the ribbon marked the beginning of a new chapter for Osweiler’s in downtown Webster City.

A cornerstone of the community since 1955, Osweiler’s recently welcomed new ownership. On Feb. 2, Sonia Rodriguez, business operations and store manager, took over the beloved business and officially reopened on March 2, bringing fresh energy while honoring the store’s long-standing tradition of quality and service.

Surrounded by friends, family, neighbors and tremendous support from the business community, the joy was evident as the ribbon was cut.

“To our incredible customers from Webster City and the surrounding communities: your support truly means the world to me. I am so grateful for the kindness you’ve shown, and I am honored to continue serving this community that I love so much for many years to come,” said Rodriguez.

Former owners, Ron and Kathy Birkestrand beamed with pride as the transition reached its final step. When they hired her over 16 years ago, little did they know, they had found the successor to their business. The Birkestrands have retired, but still live above the store.

Under Rodriguez’s leadership, Osweiler’s has received a stylish refresh, including an updated storefront window, while continuing to offer exceptional clothing and accessories for all ages. With new spring arrivals coming in weekly, shoppers can expect a constantly evolving selection.

The store is currently open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Starting at $3.46/week.
