Comedian Kuratz to perform in Webster City on Friday

Comedian Jimmy Kuratz is coming to Webster City Friday.

Refreshing, uncivilized, and politically incorrect.

That’s what Jimmy Kuratz, a self-proclaimed Australian-American redneck and stand-up comedian is all about. On his latest barnstorming tour through Iowa, his next stop is in the heart of Hamilton County.

Scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds, 1200 Bluff Street in Webster City, Kuratz will present his “Almost Cancelled” stand-up comedy tour for the masses.

According to the comedian, the set runs for 90 minutes with a 10-minute intermission.

“My primary aim is to perform at small venues across the Midwest, building my brand the old-fashioned way while helping selected venues to maximize food and drink sales,” Kuratz said. “Live comedy brings much needed laughter, and there are very few comedians touring small towns in the Midwest.”

Born and raised in Iowa, Kuratz decided to make the move “down under” — to Beaconsfield, Tasmania, to be exact.

Having been in the stand-up game for nearly seven years, Kuratz was part of a comedy group known as “The Flannel Panel,” who toured all over Australia in 2022.

Kuratz also admits that his brand of funny is on the edgy side. It’s why he brands himself as an independent artist.

“As a politically incorrect comedian, my independent self-employment allows me to deliver my 90-minute stand-up comedy show outside of the immediate reach of cancel culture,” Kuratz said.

Before visiting Webster City, Kuratz is in Carroll tonight for a sold out show. Following his stop in Hamilton County, Kuratz goes south and east, telling jokes in Mount Pleasant.

Next week, Kuratz will be in Chariton and Newton, before venturing northward to Minnesota and Wisconsin. He returns to Iowa in April, with stops in Cresco, Waverly and St. Charles.

These stops are a part of Kuratz’s year-long tour of the United States.

There is a general admission price, and it is restricted to patrons 18 years of age and older. However, there will be no ticket sales at the door on the show date.
