STORY CITY — The South Hamilton wrestling team competed here this past Saturday at the Jim Kinyon Norsemen Invitational hosted by Roland-Story. Sergeant Bluff-Luton took home team honors ahead of Williamsburg and Atlantic, as the Hawks finished 20th overall in the 22-team field. Mason Ostrem was the lone South Hamilton wrestler to earn a spot on the podium, placing sixth at 113 pounds. JEWELL — The South Hamilton boys dropped a 62-41 decision to West Marshall here last Friday night. Sam Koehnk scored 15 points to lead the Hawks, as Luke Martensen added seven. ALGONA — Webster City’s Evie Davis had a strong night for the Lynx, but it wasn’t enough on Friday against Algona. The Bulldogs (5-2 overall) prevailed by a 51-26 count on their home court behind three players in double figures. ALGONA — The Webster City boys basketball team ran into a buzzsaw on Friday night. Algona (3-1 overall) used a 28-point performance from Jacob Burns to post a 75-48 victory over the Lynx (1-2). For Webster City, Jaxon Griffith led the way with 14 points. Zack Lahr added 10 points. Algona’s Levi Walker (11) and Nathan Manske (10), Jaxon Eischen (11) and Landon Campbell (10) also scored in double figures. Coyce Bertran was near double digits with eight points for the Lynx.
